Maus Haus Gallery is excited to announce our collaboration with Bowers School Farm. This partnership will bring local artists, focused on environmental art along with farm rejuvenation to the farm. This summer, there will be three chances to view art at the farm in conjunction with the event Farm After 5. The second theme focuses on Garden and will take place on Friday, July 26thth from 5-8pm. There is a $10 entrance fee into the event.
We are looking for artists of all ages, mediums and skill levels to help fill the farm with artwork. The artwork will be part of a scavenger hunt walk throughout the property.
Rules:
- Artwork being submitted must either contain materials representing or highlight any of the 5 categories:
Farming, Sustainability, Environmental, Recycling and/or Agriculture.
- All materials must be able to withstand outside elements, as they will be placed outdoors, or inside barns throughout the event and paints must be cadmium free as this can be toxic to wildlife.
- All the artwork accepted will be considered as a partial donation to the farm with 50% of the sales going to Bowers School Farm, 25% returned to the artist, and 25% to Maus Haus Gallery, to cover administration costs.
- Artists are donating their work to help build awareness of the farm and art community. Artists can submit, for free or with a donation, up to 3 pieces of work, with the understanding that if chosen, the artist is donating these pieces to the farm. If the
pieces are not sold, artists can arrange to take their work back, or, the pieces will become the property of Maus Haus Gallery and can be shown in any shows relating to farm community events at Bowers School Farm.
- The work will be juried by Maus Haus Gallery.
- All accepted works will require a $10 exhibition fee, this locks in the artists slot for the event. The $10 fee will go to cover the admission fee to the Open Barn event on the day of the
show.
- All accepted works must be available for sale. During the event, patrons can purchase all available pieces, and take them with them at the end the event.
- Maus Haus Gallery is responsible for all sales and submission fees, along with housing pieces prior to installation.
